My name is Yinan, you can also call me my Nickname Momo. I love both art and marketing!

Before I came to New York City to study Integrated Marketing, I got a bachelor's degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I also went to Florence for an exchange program to be immersed in art and fashion and practice my communication skills with peers from different cultural backgrounds.

Here, in my blog, I will talk about my understanding of digital marketing with examples from the fashion, beauty, and art worlds.

So, today, let’s begin with what is digital marketing and how it connects consumers with brands.

Any marketing methods conducted through electronic devices or online platforms are digital marketing, which includes channels like social media, search engine ads, and email. They are faster, lower cost, more personalized, and create a network of experiences that connects users, platforms, and brands. Through these channels, companies collect measurable customer responses and then generate insights to improve brand awareness and sales. How do they do that?

The answer is data.

Also, as we enter the digital era, customers are more used to online shopping, which means the data is more easily collected through digital cookies on websites. Brands can easily analyze consumers’ shopping patterns and decision journeys. Product managers can directly hear users’ experiences and comment to improve products and boost sales. Another important thing to improve marketing efficiency is the allocation of budgets. Data can also help us decide which marketing channel can reach more consumers or have a better return on investment.
